Asian bourses lose ground tracking weak U.S. equities
Asian indices lost ground on Wednesday’s trade moving in line with weak U.S. equities closed overnight.
Investors are cautious about the rising tensions between U.S. and N Korea and the closing French Elections.
Stocks in Japan tumbled, with Nikkei off 0.18% and Topix declining 0.18%.
Australian shares also lost ground with ASX 200 weak by 0.43%.
Hang Seng index shed 0.47%, while Shanghai Composite was off 0.37% and Shenzen Composite lost 0.34%.
The South Korean index, Kospi shed 0.36%.
Japan’s NIKKEI is trading down by 1 points or 0.01% at 18417 levels.
Hang Seng Index is trading down by 180 points or 0.76% at 23743 levels.
ASX 200 is trading down by 28 points or 0.49% at 5808 levels.
China’s Shanghai index is trading down by 35 points or 1.07% at 3162 levels.
Kospi is trading down by 12 points or 0.60% at 2135 levels.
The dollar index tumbled to 99.475 by 7:33 am HK/SIN.
