Dollar hits session low following Trump’s comments; Wall Street nervous
U.S. markets closed lower in Wednesday’s trade, as investors have assessed the geopolitical landscape.
Dollar touched a session low after the comments of U.S. President, Donald Trump in an interview, that dollar was getting too strong.
The dollar index which measures the greenback against 6 major currencies, last traded 0.5% weaker at 100.23, after touching its lowest level in the month.
In Wednesday’s trade, its 2 year yield slipped to session lows around 1.21%, while the 10 year yield slipped below the key 2.30% level.
Dow Jones Industrial Average index traded weak by nearly 60 points or 0.29% at 20591 levels.
S&P 500 index traded down by over 8 points or 0.38% at 2344 levels.
NASDAQ Composite traded down by 30 points or 0.52% at 5836 levels.
