F&O ban updates
Major stocks such as DLF, Fortis Healthcare, GMR Infra, HDIL, Indiabulls Real Estate, JP Associates, JSW Energy, Just Dial, have been included in the future and options (F&O) contracts ban for the trading session of August 22. However, BEML has pulled out from F&O ban and DLF and GMR Infra are new in F&O ban.
Generally, when the combined open interest in its derivative contracts crosses 95% of the market-wide position limit, a stock goes under the ban in F&O.
Once in ban period trade is allowed only to decrease positions, basically, no new contracts/fresh positions are allowed.
The normal trading in the stock resumes only after the aggregate open interest across exchanges comes down to 80% or below of the market-wide position limit.
