Hathway Cable jumps 20%; inks partnership with Netflix
Shares of Hathway Cable jumped 14% on the BSE in the noon trade as the company has partnered with Netflix to offer video streaming services to the latter’s eight lakh subscribers, as per media report.
Under this alliance, Netflix will be offered through Hathway’s set-top box that includes a remote with a dedicated Netflix button to allow users to launch the service directly, report added.
“The company is excited to partner with Hathway Broadband in India to bring the latest technologies and great stories under one roof,” Tony Zameczkowski, Vice President Business Development for Netflix Asia said.
Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd is currently trading up 14.17% at Rs20.95 from its previous closing of Rs18.35 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs18.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs22 and Rs18.20 respectively.
Hathway holds a PAN India ISP license and is the first cable television services provider to offer broadband Internet services.
The BSE group ‘B’ stock of face value Rs2 has touched a 52-week high of Rs48.50 on 15-Jan-2018 and a 52-week low of Rs15.15 on 17-Jul-2018.
