Live Stock Market Updates: Bank stocks drag Nifty & Sensex
Nifty has slipped below the important mark of 10,050 and is taking support near 10,030 level followed by 10,000. On the upside, 10,100 is big hurdle. Bank stocks have been dragging down the markets during morning trade.
Bank Nifty index is trading lower by 261 points or 1.06% at 24,537 level. Yes Bank is top loser in the index trading lower by 2.49% or Rs 9.4 per share at Rs 367.65 per share. Other bank stocks including ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, SBI and Federal Bank are also trading in negative territory, down by more than 1%.
At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,099 down by 270 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,030 down by 91 points. A total of 24 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 1% at 15,883, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 0.98% at 16,619.
There is selling activity seen in all the sectors on BSE.
Sun Pharma, HCL Technologies, Bharti Infratel, Wipro and Lupin are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, ICICI Bank and Vedanta are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
