Live Stock Market Updates – Sensex, Nifty start on a negative note ahead of Oct F&O expiry
ndices opened marginally lower on Thursday ahead of the derivatives expiry for the month of October due later in the day. The markets, on Wednesday, ended at fresh highs with Nifty settling above 10,300 for the first time ever and Sensex above 33K following a mega recapitalisation package for banks and a Rs 7 lakh crore infra booster
At 9:31 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,037 down by 4 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,291 down 4 points.
SBI, PNB, BoB and Canara Bank jumped 1-6%, continuing for second consecutive session after big recapitalization plan.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading marginally up by 0.06% at 16,258 whereas BSE Small-cap Index trading up by 0.05% at 17,170.
SBI, L&T, Axis Bank, Infosys and BPCL are among the gainers, whereas Indiabulls HF, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank and HCL Tech were losers on NSE today.
Some buying seen in PSU Bank, Metal, Media and Pharma while Financial services, Auto, IT and Realty sectors showed weakness on the NSE.
The INDIA VIX is up by 5.4% at 12.39.
Out of 1,951 stocks traded on the NSE, 764 advanced, 740 declined, and 447 remained unchanged today.
A total of 30 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while eight stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
