Nifty above 10,600 mark; TCS hits $100bn in Mcap
Benchmark indices are trading in the green, however, there is not much movement. At the opening bell, Sensex and nifty had opened on a flat note.
Heavyweights like ICICI Bank, Infosys, Bharti Airtel and Hero MotoCorp were under pressure. However, the pressure was eased by gains in HDFC, L&T and Kotak Bank.
TCS created history by becoming the first Indian listed company to hit the coveted $100 billion m-cap figure.
Idea Cellular has 19.6 lakh shares changed hands in a block on BSE. Stock up 1.27% at Rs71.75.
Shares Sasken Technologies rose as much as 13% to record high of Rs847 after it reported its March quarter earnings.
Shares of Unichem Labs gained ~8.7%, the most in over three months after the US FDA completed the inspection of its Ghaziabad unit with no observation.
At 11:29 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading 93 points higher at 34,508. The Nifty50 is trading up by 38 points to 10,600 mark.
GAIL (+0.74%), NTPC (+0.49%), Kotak Bank (+0.45%), Hindalco, Titan (+0.36%) were the top gainers on the NSE at the opening bell.
ICICI Bank (-1.47%), Cipla (-1.26%), Infosys (-1.20%), Bajaj Finance (-0.64%), Tech M (-0.64%) were the top losers on the NSE at the opening bell.
Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, China’s Shanghai Composite and Korea’s Kospi were trading mixed with a negative bias.
