Nifty off day’s low; Bank Nifty index turns green; PNB up by over 2%
The Bank Nifty index is trading in green post lunch hour at 22700 levels higher by 0.21%. The Punjab National Bank has moved to positive territory. The stock is trading at Rs 154.15 per share up by 2.12%. The traded volume stood at 1,28,08,837 shares and traded value stood at Rs 191.97 Cr.
Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Canara Bank, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank have also turned in positive territory.
There were 348 advances, 1277 declines and 327 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong negative undertone in the market.Bonaz Capital
At 2 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30503 down 67 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9430 down 7 points. A total of 15 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 81 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.82% at 14347, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 1.17% at 14877.
Some buying activity is seen in Finance, Information Technology and Auto while Oil & Gas, Energy, Telecom are showing weakness on BSE.
Maruti, Eicher Motors, Hindalco, M&M and Tata Steel are among the gainers, whereas Sun Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma, Bajaj Auto Adani Ports are losing sheen on NSE.
The INDIA VIX is higher by close to 1.98% at 11.42.
