Nifty tests 9300, Sensex sheds nearly 150 points
TCS is contributing nearly 15 points to the Nifty losses on Friday. The stock is down by 2.2% at Rs 279.
The BSE Metals index is trading in green in Friday’s trading session. It is trading up by 2.2% at 11,385 level.
Almost all stocks in the index are trading in green with the stock of Vedanta Limited and Hindalco Industries together majorly contributing to the index gains.
The stock of Vedanta is up by 3.8% at Rs 243, JSW Steel is up by 2.9% at Rs 203, Hindalco is up by 2.6% at Rs 199, Jindal Steel is up by 2.5% at Rs 116 and Tata Steel is higher by 2% at Rs 454 on BSE.
Meanwhile, a biopharmaceutical major, Biocon has announced 2:1 bonus issue, i.e. 2 bonus equity shares of Rs. 5/- each for every 1 fully paid-up equity shares of Rs. 5/- each. The stock is trading down 1.4% at Rs 1103 on BSE.
At 12 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,882 down 147 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9294 down 48 points. A total of 62 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 16 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.29% at 14815, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.35% at 15332.
Some buying activity is seen in Metal, Basic Materials and Automobiles indices, while FMCG, Energy and Finance indices are showing weakness on BSE.
Hindalco, Tata Steel, Bank of Baroda and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas HDFC, ITC, Kotak bank and Zeel are losing on the NSE.
