Opening Bell – Markets open at record high
At 09:15 AM, Nifty opened at 10,175.6 level, up by 22 points while Sensex opened at 32,522 level, up by 98 points.
There are 756 advances, 320 declines and 41 unchanged stocks on BSE reflecting strong positive sentiments floating in the market.
Nifty50 has immediate support placed at the level of 10,160, and if it slips below this support level, the next support stands at 10,140-10,130 levels. On the upside, 10,200 may act as a resistance level for the Nifty.
The rupee opened at its lowest level since September 6, 2017 at Rs 64.18 per USD.
The US stock benchmarks ended Monday’s session with modest gains, with the S&P 500 and the Dow Industrial closing at all-time high levels. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 63 points to 22,331. The S&P 500 index added 4 points to 2,504. The tech-laden Nasdaq Composite Index inched up 6 points to close at 6,455.
On Tuesday, equity markets in Asia struggled to find direction. Japan’s Nikkei 225 was up 278 points in the morning trade. On the other hand, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 101 points, while China’s Shanghai Composite was trading flat.
