Pickup was reported in macro-economic data i.e. India’s IIP data grew at 7.1% in February 2018. However, retail inflation eased to 4.28% in March 2018 vs. 4.44% in February 2018 as food prices fell, supporting the market performance. In the previous week, RBI eased its April-September 2018 retail inflation estimates to 4.7% vs to 5.1%, from a previous range of 5.1% to 5.6% released in February. IT stocks gained on expectation of good corporate earnings.
