Suzuki likely to set up fourth production line at Gujarat facility
India’s automobile major, Maruti Suzuki India likely to set up its fourth production line at the company’s Gujarat facility, the company’s chairman RC Bhargava said in an interaction with a leading news daily.
Bhargava said that the fourth line of production with a capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum was under review by the company. He said with this addition of capacity the company will reach a total capacity of a million units. The proposed production line will be a lithium-ion battery production line at Gujarat.
“The Gujarat facility which Suzuki has set up, the first line of 2.5 units has been already commissioned, work is going on the second and third lines that will increase the Gujarat plant capacity to 7.5 million units in two-three years,” he added.
The stock of the company closed at Rs 7,968, up by 0.62% on the NSE on Friday. The stock had hit an intraday high of Rs 7,979.75 and an intraday low of Rs 7,892 on the NSE.
