US stocks end higher on Friday on the back of strong jobs data
US indices ended higher on Friday as investor sentiment improved following higher-than-expected jobs data. In November, the US economy added 228,000 jobs, while the unemployment rate remained at a 17-year low of 4.1%, according to data from Labour Department.
Gilead Sciences Inc rose 2.1% on company’s plans to acquire Cell Design Labs Inc.
All the key indices closed in the green. Dow Jones ended at 24329.1 up 0.49%, S&P 500 ended at 2651.5 up 0.55% and Nasdaq closed at 6840.08 up 0.40%.
